Production Processes
Sourcing & Upcycling
We partner with Rebottled, a specialized social enterprise and fellow Enactus venture, dedicated to large-scale bottle recycling. They collect, clean, cut, and polish discarded wine bottles, transforming waste into beautiful candle containers.
Handmade production
We melt 100% vegan soy wax and blend in carefully selected fragrance oils. Wicks are centered, and the scented wax is hand-poured into each upcycled bottle.This manual process allows for close quality control and ensures a consistent, high-quality finished product.
Scent blending
Every scent is carefully selected and refined through an iterative process. We blend small batches of high-quality fragrance oils until we achieve the perfect composition. This approach ensures a formula that is both effective and balanced: noticeable and long-lasting, yet not overpowering.

We provide meaningful, paid work by employing women directly in the creation and crafting of our candles, supporting their journey toward financial independence.

Materials
Soy Wax
We believe in keeping things natural. Our 100% soy wax is a renewable, biodegradable alternative to petroleum-based paraffin wax. Free from phthalates and harsh chemicals, it burns cleaner and slower without releasing harmful toxins into your space, creating a safer environment for you and a healthier choice for the planet.
Fragrance
Every scent should be as safe as it is beautiful. Our fragrances are carefully selected from high-quality, ethically sourced fragrance oils and essential oils, chosen for their purity and safety. Unlike many commercial synthetic fragrances, our non-toxic blends are completely hazard-free and meet rigorous quality standards, ensuring a pure and delightful scent experience in your home.
Hemp wicks
At Clara & Lucy, we believe that every detail matters, including the wick. That’s why we use hemp wicks coated in natural beeswax, offering a cleaner and more sustainable alternative to traditional cotton or lead-core wicks. This thoughtful choice ensures a better burn and aligns with our commitment to quality and sustainability.
Glass bottles
We give discarded wine bottles a new life by using upcycled glass from our partners at Rebottled for our candle containers. This eco-friendly choice reduces waste and adds a unique, handcrafted touch to every candle.
